A: Yes! Chiropractic is one of the safest forms of health care for children. A chiropractor does not adjust a baby or child the same way they would adjust an adult. A child’s body is still developing, so only gentle and light pressure adjustments are used.

Chiropractic is an amazing tool we can use to support children through growth and development. There is really no such thing as getting adjusted “too soon!” A child’s brain doubles in size their first year of life - so you can imagine there is A LOT of change happening in that first year. The sooner a child is evaluated by a pediatric chiropractor, the sooner they can be monitored for optimal development!

A: Our pediatric adjustments use the pressure equivalent of what we would use to check the ripeness of a tomato - VERY gentle! These gentle, low forces techniques are safe and effective for children of all ages - even newborns.
Many of our pediatric patients receive their first adjustment shortly after birth. The birth process can place stress on a newborn’s spine. Most babies sleep peacefully through their adjustments! The older they get, the more they enjoy the experience of getting adjusted.
